Being a Fool is Not Cool

Alex is what I consider a fool because of cockiness and his unpreparedness for his adventure in the wild. He was so stubborn and unprepared, and when Gallien offered him some of his supplies you would have thought he had a death wish for not accepting any of his offers. What is ironic about the quote is that when he said I have a college education you would have thought that he would have made a better choice of preparing for this strange and wild adventure. Continuing with the topic of irony; when he said I'm living like this by choice, and that he was not destitute was kind of funny because he died even though he thought he was well equipped.
